Accidents and approaches to Formula 1 Accidents and approaches to Formula 1

Vienna (OTS) On Sunday morning there was a small sign of life from Austria’s streets and the start of the holidays in Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland. There was a lot going on in Tyrol, for example on Seefelder Straße (B177), where there was a traffic jam heading north. Block clearances were announced for the Brettfalltunnel (B169) and the Füssen border tunnel (B179). On the Fernpass road (B179) near Nassereith, there were also longer waiting times due to an accident in a 12-kilometer section.

As predicted by the club, holidaymakers had to be patient on the Semmering Expressway (S6) in front of a construction site between Gloggnitz and Maria Schutz and when leaving the country at the Kufstein/Kiefersfelden border crossing (A12).

Accidents led to waiting times and closures

Already in the morning hours there were significant traffic jams on important connections, such as at the Walserberg border crossing (A1). Due to an accident involving several vehicles, the traffic jam built up rapidly and stretched a good ten kilometers back to Salzburg Süd (A10). There was an accident on the southern motorway (A2) heading south near Zöbern. On the Tauern Autobahn (A10), the Katschberg Tunnel was closed because of a defective vehicle and then because of a previous accident.
