ÖAMTC: Returning from the Whitsun holidays caused traffic jams

Tyrol and Salzburg were particularly affected

Vienna (OTS) Since Saturday morning, Whitsun traffic has been noticeable on the main routes in western Austria. As feared by the ÖAMTC, the Tauern Autobahn (A10) in Salzburg was once again the number 1 bottleneck in both directions in front of the Golling-Werfen construction site area. More than five kilometers of backlog resulted in a journey time of over 30 minutes.

In Tyrol, the Fernpassstraße (B179) between Nassereith and Füssen and the Inntal Autobahn (A12) before the Kufstein border crossing towards Bavaria were overloaded.

As the afternoon progresses, the traffic jams will probably get longer, according to a spokesman for the ÖAMTC.
