ÖAMTC: Holiday shift change in western Austria
Vienna (OTS) –

On Saturday mornings, especially in western Austria, people had to be patient when accessing and leaving the ski areas, the ÖAMTC reported.

There were delays in Vorarlberg on the Rheintal Autobahn (A14) towards Arlberg between Nüziders and Bludenz and further on the Montafon Straße (L188).

In Tyrol, long metal columns formed on the Fernpass road (B179) in the direction of Nassereith. The time lost was over an hour. On Achensee Straße (B181) and Zillertal Straße (B169), you also had to be prepared for longer waiting times and block processing in front of the Brettfalltunnel heading south. Around Kitzbühel on the Pass Thurn Road (B161) and on the Eiberg Road (B173) towards Kufstein, progress was slow.

In Salzburg there were long traffic jams on the Tauern Autobahn (A10) in front of the single-lane construction area between Golling andwerfen. According to the club, the line of cars in the direction of Villach stretched back to Hallein; it took up to an hour and a half more travel time for this section. Progress on Salzachtal Straße (B159) was also very slow.

Information about the current traffic situation: https://www.oeamtc.at/verkehrsservice or in the ÖAMTC route planner for all means of transport https://www.oeamtc.at/routenplaner/ as well as in the club’s app: www.oeamtc.at/apps .
