Vienna (OTS) – “Under Electricity” is the title of “Saldo – the business magazine” designed by Cornelia Krebs on Friday, February 2nd from 9:42 a.m. on Ö1.
This week, Energy Minister Leonore Gewessler presented new priorities within the framework of the Climate and Energy Fund. The fund has almost 660 million euros available for projects for electricity and heat storage, the mobility transition and the further expansion of renewable energy sources, which is 13 percent more than last year. According to the climate minister, the main thing is to get as many people as possible excited about the energy transition – and also to motivate them to take part. To this end, the fund offers concrete advice and coordination options, for example for energy communities: people join together to generate and use energy together. In this way, on the one hand, the expansion of renewable energy sources is to be stimulated and, on the other hand, direct local consumption is to be promoted. This option has existed since 2021 as part of the Renewable Expansion Act – and it is being used more and more often: energy communities are booming, even if it is not entirely straightforward to set up one. Cornelia Krebs asked around in Styria.
