Nurses earn more than just recognition – they earn real changes!

“Our nurses do extraordinary – day after day, with great commitment and high professionalism,” emphasizes Reinhard Hundsmüller, federal manager of the Samaritan Association. “We would like to use this day to publicly thank you for your tireless efforts.”

At the same time, the Samaritan Association is putting projects into the spotlight that make a future -oriented contribution to care. The focus is also on how organizations can create a better work environment for their employees through targeted measures.

The challenges in nursing are known: acute shortage of skilled workers, an aging population and increasing stress for the staff. The Samaritan Association shows that solutions are needed – and is already there – to ensure the maintenance of tomorrow sustainably.

Family -friendly company

The Samaritan Association was recently awarded the state quality mark “Professional Family”. “Our family -friendly attitude reflects our central values - individuality, cohesion and mutual appreciation. It gives our employees support and motivation and that is exactly what you can feel in the quality of her work,” emphasizes Andreas Balog, Managing Director of the Samaritan Association. “We would like to offer our employees an environment that enables them to reconcile their professional and family obligations.”

To achieve this, the Samaritan Association relies on individual solutions, vacation regulations and representation models. In addition, there are numerous internal organized and therefore flexible personnel development offers such as supervision, coaching and the pilot project “Shared Leadership” available to employees. As the latest initiative, a free breakfast was introduced for all employees in the nursing competence centers. These measures have been shown to strengthen the satisfaction and well -being of the teams – and have a positive effect on work quality and employee loyalty in the long term.

Man and nature in harmony

Sustainability is actively lived in the nursing competence centers-with biodiversity oases, dementia gardens and climate-friendly energy generation. The Samaritan Association sets a strong sign of lived sustainability and cooperation that focuses on people and nature. “In the facilities, green oases of wellbeing are created that not only do the environment, but also the residents: do good inside and employees,” explains Andreas Balog.

Leaf for sheet, watts for watts

Sustainability does not end in the garden at the Samaritan Association – it extends to the roof: in several nursing competence centers, electricity from solar energy is actively obtained with photovoltaic systems. This makes a valuable contribution to the regional energy transition – efficient, environmentally friendly and directly on site. “We live sustainability – through photovoltaics, ecological gardens and social participation,” said Balog. “The fact that we can count on so much support from the region makes these projects twice.
