Chamber of Agriculture Vienna President Norbert Walter was unanimously elected today as Vice President of LK Austria (LKÖ). In this function, he follows the previous LK Styria President Franz Titschenbacher, who has withdrawn from his chamber functions. This includes the Presidium alongside Lkö and Vorarlberg President Josef Moosbrugger now too Norbert Walter as well as federal farmer Irene Neumann-Hartberger and LK Lower Austria President Johannes Schmuckenschlager as vice president.
“Norbert Walter is not only a highly competent and committed agricultural and forestry representative and enthusiastic winegrower. As a born Tyrolean and resident Viennese, he also stands for a strong east-west axis and is considered a skillful negotiator and connector. LKÖ President Josef Moosbrugger his proposal and the unanimous decision of today’s presidential conference. “I warmly congratulate Norbert Walter today, thank you for the so far good cooperation and wish him a lot of strength, joy and success for these additional and all other tasks,” emphasizes Moosbrugger.
The 56-year-old Norbert Walter was born in Tyrol in 1968, studied at the University of Natural Research and completed the University course for PR in Vienna. According to a wide variety of professional functions, he has been active as an employee in Raiffeisenbank Lower Austria since 2001. He started his political career in 1997 as a speaker in the ÖVP club and continued this as the state manager of the ÖVP Vienna from 2002 and then as a member of the Vienna, municipal council and city council. In 2012 he became director of the Vienna Farmers’ Association and held this office until 2021. He has been the state hunter of Vienna since 2016. He also acted as Vice President of the LK Vienna from 2018 and has also been a chairman of the Vienna Farmers’ Association since 2021. Since April 19, 2023, he has acted as President of the LK Vienna and since today as LKÖ Vice President.
