“We view this change towards animal welfare as positive. The frightening images from Styrian broiler farms and a slaughterhouse, together with the animal protection protest, have led to the problem of overbreeding of broiler chickens being taken more seriously. But more than 2/3 of the Austrian “Hendl” still suffer from growth that is far too rapid. In addition, there is the meat from abroad, which is still sold at low prices in some chain stores. Through our one-day presence at GACKERN in St. Andrä, we want to continue to draw attention to the existing problems and sensitize the population.”
