No money for vacation – closed society

I always hated the first day of school after the summer vacation. Not because I didn’t feel like school, it was a way to flee from home from the confines. Rather, before the moment school friends or teachers asked me where I was during the summer vacation, especially in the upper level. I said Barcelona, Rimini, Nice. Cities names that I heard from citizen children. I log because I was ashamed that there was no other places outside the quarter and school. In truth, I spent the summer holidays in the social building settlement, where I grew up, surrounded by the same faces, the same asphalt, the same loneliness and the same sun that burned us in the neck, while it gave up the backdrop for summer night dreams.

Sure, every few years I crouched with my brothers on the back bench on the three-day car trip with parents to Turkey, along the Black Sea coast, the eastern pontic mountains, their birth and, which was much more important. By driving for hours, our legs fell asleep – three days, four thousand kilometers, a lot of luggage. The first week was exciting, the other four or five, depending on the vacation granted by the father and mother, boring. Summer vacation, for me that were either the practice of social shame or boredom abroad, which was followed by shame again. Of course I told my classmates that I was on the Riviera.

I had to think of this shame in the published figures of the Federal Statistical Office. In 2024, every fifth person could not afford a one -week vacation. 21 percent correspond to 17.4 million people in one of the richest countries in the world. For single parents (38 percent) or couples with more than two children (29 percent), it looks even tougher, but also for living alone (29 percent). These figures reminded me of the shame that I condemned me in my youth for self -denial.

This summer she condemns millions of workers, workers’ children, arms, young people, friends, my class, in the restricted zones assigned to us, while since we have to listen to since the new federal government has been entering the fact that we should work even more, forget the eight-hour day as anachronism, the four-day week and work-life balance. Why? So that Friedrich Merz (CDU) and his class of money bags, private owners, speculators, moralists, war strikers and parasitics can fill the bags even more. What they already do. See Jens Spahn, see increase in diet, see this economic order.

Anyone who cannot afford this year, again, should know that this is politically wanted. The capitalist holiday redistribution is no different from that, even in the third largest economy worldwide: the recovery time for the body, which is due to capital, does not make a profit. Doing nothing, discovering new places, making experiences, meeting other people, all of this is refused 17.4 million workers.

There should be no money for vacation, but for tanks and assault rifles.

A friend of mine didn’t leave the Bergisches Land all year round. He won’t be able to do it for a one -week summer vacation either. He can’t afford that. Friends of Merz rent all Venice for their wedding – or celebrate on Sylt, where he flew as a pilot with his private jet. Wherever you look: closed society.

Poverty also means gravity, means earth education, means to have to step on the spot, repetition of violence. Can’t go on vacation, the extended need of what social scientists call mobility poverty. So you could speak of vacation poverty, immediately after the trend of recent years with the word poverty composite: child poverty, poverty in old age, poverty in housing. Depending on the method used, the diversification of the misery may be productive, but there is also a discourse knitting, which is often played in the media.

Anyone who cuts sub -areas of socially generated poverty out of the cosmos of poverty, treats them as an independent phenomenon and adds ingredients such as “participation” or “opportunities” who don’t want to know anything about the poor, not talk about exploitation and not about the class struggle from above. He deceives to do something about it without doing anything about poverty. He is a helper. Poverty becomes “poor income”, poverty becomes “anti -social”, poverty becomes “total refusal” and “himself to blame”. The bourgeois language games for humiliation for the oppressed goings -on, countless flowers, as the debate about citizen money shows. Carsten Linnemann (CDU) wants “to the substance”. The CDU general secretary makes no secret out of his hatred of the arms. Either way, the impairing continues to grab it.

The point is that politics and the bourgeois are not interested in changing anything. Anyone who, like the SPD in the election campaign in the election campaign, “guaranteed” 15 euros from 2026 and now transfers their “promise” to a Sankt-Nimmerlein Day after 2027, but at the same time sends NATO’s five percent goal and exhibits a blank check for high armor and war preparations, they have other things in mind as a fight against poverty. He fights the poor and the working class. He fights my friend and me. There should be no money for vacation, but for tanks and assault rifles.

Vacation – this is above all freely available time, freed from everyday life, constraints and always the same time, even a look at better life. Karl Marx writes in “capital”: “In capitalist society, free time is produced for a class by transforming all lifetime of masses into working hours.” This idea not only translates the figures of the Federal Statistical Office, he spells my shame on the first day of school after the summer vacation. The fight for vacation is the struggle for the recovery of our lifetime, from which the rich and owners form their freedom and enjoy them on their yachts and private islands. We don’t have to tolerate that.
