Next-generation computing: MiTAC and TYAN present servers with Intel® Xeon® 6 processors for AI, HPC, cloud and enterprise workloads at COMPUTEX 2024

Taipei (ots/PRNewswire) MiTAC Computing Technology, the subsidiary of MiTAC Holdings Corp. (TSE:3706), and its server brand TYAN®, the world’s leading server platform manufacturer, will introduce their new server systems and motherboards designed for today’s servers at COMPUTEX 2024, Booth M1120 in Taipei, Taiwan, June 4-7 AI, HPC, cloud and enterprise workloads are optimized. These solutions exploit the potential of the latest Intel® Xeon® 6 processors and 4th and 5th generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processorsto deliver top performance.

“For more than a decade, MiTAC has worked with Intel at the forefront of server technology innovation, continually delivering groundbreaking solutions tailored for AI and high-performance computing (HPC). Integrating Intel’s latest Xeon 6 processors into our MiTAC and TYAN server platforms transforms computing capabilities, noticeably increases AI performance, increases efficiency and scales cloud operations. These advancements give our customers a competitive advantage through superior performance and optimized total cost of ownership,” said Rick Hwang, President of MiTAC Computing Technology Corporation.

New MiTAC/TYAN servers with Intel Xeon 6: proven performance and outstanding efficiency Intel® Xeon® 6 is coming to market in two processor classes to meet different requirements. The Intel It offers high core density and exceptional performance per watt, providing significant benefits for cloud workloads that require high throughput. With their exceptional memory bandwidth and I/O, Performance Cores (P-Cores) excel in a wide range of workloads and offer higher AI performance than other CPUs. In addition, the P-Cores’ integrated accelerators provide an additional increase in performance and efficiency for certain workloads. E- and P-Cores have a compatible architecture with a common software stack and are supported by the largest ecosystem of hardware and software providers.

MiTAC presents two new dual-socket server platforms with Intel® Xeon® 6 processors. The TX86-E7148 (codename “Katmai Pass”), tailored to HPC and AI workloads, is the successor model to the Intel Server D50DNP Family, which can accommodate up to four compute modules in a 2U chassis and supports both air and liquid cooling for different infrastructures. TX77A-E7142 (codename “Deer Creek Pass”), the successor model to the Intel Server M50FCP-Familieis a full-featured, performance-optimized platform for data-intensive applications.

TYAN has three at COMPUTEX Intel® Xeon® 6 based server products before. First up is the Thunder HX FT83B-B7149 – a 4U dual-socket server platform designed for massively parallel AI and HPC workloads. With 32 DDR5 RDIMM slots and up to 8 double-width PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, the FT83B-B7149 is a powerful platform for compute-intensive AI and HPC applications. Next is the Thunder CX GC73A-B5660, a 1U single-socket server that has 12 hot-swap NVMe U.2 drive bays, 2 standard PCIe 5.0 x16 and 2 OCP 3.0 mezzanine slots for On -Prem edge computing/storage applications. Finally, TYAN presents the Tempest HX S5662, a single-socket AI server motherboard in a standard CEB form factor designed to accommodate multiple GPU cards. It supports 8 DDR5 RDIMM slots, 5 PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, 2 NVMe M.2 slots, dual 25GbE and one GbE port.

Server platforms with 4th and 5th generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors with an eye on the growing demands of AI, HPC and cloud In July 2023, Intel transferred to MiTAC the rights to manufacture and distribute products based on Intel Data Center Solution Group (DSG) designs. Since then, MiTAC has made continuous investments in the DSG product range and its support. This year, MiTAC is unveiling its at COMPUTEX 2024 DSG-Products. Die Intel Server D50DNP Family, based on 4th and 5th Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors or the Intel Xeon CPU Max series, offers exceptional computing power, along with more effective acceleration of AI functions and in-memory analytics built into the processor is integrated. The Intel Server M50FCP-Familie meanwhile, delivers excellent computing performance, high-speed I/O and storage throughput for most standard server applications.

Ferner hat TYAN a range of products on offer that support 4th and 5th generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors. For desk-based AI servers, TYAN provides the Thunder HX FT65T-B5652 – a rack-convertible single-socket server platform designed to accommodate up to 4 double-slot GPU cards.

TYAN provides different types of density servers for different workload requirements in space-constrained data centers. The Thunder CX TD76-B5658 is a 2U chassis that houses 4 single-socket server nodes for high-density computing needs; Thunder CX GC68A-B7136 is a 1U dual socket server implementation with 16 DDR5 RDIMM slots and hybrid memory configuration; Thunder CX GC79A-B7132another 1U dual-socket server, offers up to 32 DDR5 RDIMM slots and an all-flash configuration.

For mainstream 2U dual socket storage servers are included Thunder HX TS75A-B7132 and Thunder SX TS70A-B7136 Two platforms available that offer high data IOPs with hybrid 2.5″ drive configurations while Thunder SX TS70-B7136 with its 12 3.5-inch hybrid drive bays represents an alternative implementation for higher storage capacity requirements. For storing cold data Thunder SX TX88-B5652 recommended, a single-socket storage server with 24 3.5-inch SATA and 2 2.5-inch NVMe drive bays with hot-swap functionality and tool-free access.

In addition to the server systems, TYAN will also be presenting its standards-compliant motherboards with 4th and 5th generation Intel® Xeon® CPUs at its stand. The products presented are Tempest HX S5652 – an AI server board designed to use multiple GPU cards in the CEB form factor, and Tempest HX S7130a mainstream dual-socket board that supports 5 PCIe 5.0 slots in the EEB form factor.

In addition to the products mentioned, MiTAC and TYAN offer other solutions for a wide range of requirements. One of these solutions is the TYAN Thunder CX GX40-B5573, equipped with Intel Xeon E-2400 processors, which is suitable for cloud and on-premise computing. This 1U single-socket server system is designed for cost-effective edge computing and is an ideal option for small businesses. MiTAC also introduces an O-RAN DU server: the WS1S11 (Whitestone2). This DU server supports 4th Generation Intel®
