New Volkshilfe podcast: “Fenninger meets…” interesting personalities

Vienna (OTS) Volkshilfe is a democratic member organization, which is the basis for its work as a large social organization. With this understanding, Volkshilfe, as part of organized civil society, repeatedly participates in the democratic discourse.

New podcast with Erich Fenninger
The new podcast format offers space to discuss socio-political topics with interesting guests. The public’s opinion on the respective topic was obtained in advance in street surveys, and at the end of each conversation there are also concrete demands on politicians. From April 22nd The first two episodes of “Fenninger meets…” are available on all common podcast platforms; the series consists of six issues.

It starts with Momentum leader Barbara Blaha, who discusses the many aspects of poverty in Austria with Fenninger in the podcast. In an interview with Fenninger, the founder of the “Good Council for Redistribution” Marlene Engelhorn explains very specifically what she wants to achieve with her citizens’ council.

Robert Menasse and Susanne Scholl
This is followed by conversations with writer Robert Menasse about the dangers to our democracy, and with author and activist Susanne Scholl, Fenninger explores the question of how great the danger of right-wing extremism is.

Katharina Rogenhofer and Esther Maria Kürmayr
The podcast series ends with two more impressive women. Climate activist and context institute founder Katharina Rogenhofer explains what led to the founding of the context institute and why climate and social issues must always be thought of together. The chairwoman of the “Black Women Community” Esther-Maria Kürmayr will talk about her work in the association and her experiences as a black woman in Austria.
