St. Pölten (OTS) – With the new year, the moderation team of the folk music show “aufhOHRchen” has two new additions. Elisabeth Jagersberger and Alfred Luger will present folk music from Lower Austria every second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 8 to 9 p.m. Norbert Hauer will be in action on the first Tuesday and Edgar Niemeczek will show what folk music treasures Lower Austria has to offer on the third Tuesday.
New year, new signing
For more than 20 years, “aufhOHRchen” on Radio NÖ has been an anchor point for all folk music fans in the country. Now it’s time to renew the signature. All folk musicians in Lower Austria are called upon to compose a new one. You have until Easter to submit an instrumental, newly composed piece of music with a length of 30 seconds to one minute. Not least with the new moderation team, we want to take up the many young trends in folk music even more.”
Elisabeth Jagersberger
The 27-year-old from Ybbstal dances, sings and teaches communication and rhetoric in addition to dance. Growing up on a farm in Zeillern, she was a flautist in the music band, leader of a folk dance group, was involved in choir projects and was also Lower Austria’s dairy queen. Volunteering is important to her, not least as a speaker for folk dance and “tactfully” with her involvement in the dance ensemble. Elisabeth Jagersberger will present “aufhOHRchen” every second Tuesday on Radio NÖ, for the first time on January 9th.
Alfred Luger
“I’ve been looking for good folk music for years and I find it every week,” says the 56-year-old from Steinakirch. His musical journey began with the accordion at the local music school. From folk dance he came to brass music, followed by tenor horn, tuba and the Styrian harmonica. The folk musicians pilgrimage to the Sonntagberg based on the idea and concept of Alfred Luger was awarded the Lower Austrian Culture Prize in 2014. Musically, he lives the traditions and customs of the year with different instruments and formations. Alfred Luger will present “aufhOHRchen” every fourth Tuesday of the month, for the first time on January 23rd.
Edgar Niemeczek
The qualified lawyer was born in Vienna in 1958, grew up in Pressbaum and lives in Grafenegg. Until 2018 he was spokesman and holding company manager for Kultur.Region.Niederösterreich. In terms of content, he was involved as an author, as a director of print and sound recording productions, as a designer of numerous folk music events, and much more. In 2013, he was awarded the professional title of “Professor” in the cultural mediator category. He is currently chairman of the Lower Austrian Volksliedwerk. Edgar Niemeczek worked on a voluntary basis as a singer in choirs and vocal ensembles, as a folk dance leader and as a member of folk music groups with the Styrian harmonica and Bohemian Bock as the main instruments. Since 2000 he has been part of the team of designers and presenters of “aufhOHRchen”, and since 2011 he has designed and moderated “g’sungen & g’spiele” on Radio NÖ.
Norbert Hauer
Norbert Hauer from the Waldviertel grew up as one of ten children of an organist and a tavern musician. Like everyone in his family, he learned to make music and music grew more and more close to his heart. “Folk music as a life companion, from the cradle to the grave, from the first crush to the last Pfiati god. Whether it’s a country song, a waltz, a polka, a yodel or a Lamourhatscher, it’s always life that it reflects,” says Norbert Hauer. Whether as a moderator and designer of “aufhOHRchen” or singing Christmas carols together at “Grafenegger Advent”, Norbert Hauer is involved with commitment, knowledge and heart.
