In 2023, the Beatrixheim on Elisabethstrasse in Perchtoldsdorf was put out due to acute defects and due to dilapidation, and the residents were moved to the surrounding facilities. A renovation of the location was no longer economically justifiable. With a unanimous decision by the Lower Austrian state government, the path was cleared in 2024 for a new development of a contemporary inpatient care facility with 144 care beds, which will be built at the Elisabethstrasse location in Perchtoldsdorf by 2027. To do this, the old Beatrixheim is canceled and replaced by a modern, sustainable new building. Today at a press conference in Perchtoldsdorf, State Councilor Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister, Mayor Andrea Kö, the managing directors of Althea, Eveline Harg and Hermann Harg, provided information about current and future developments.
“If the need for care is too large, all Lower Austrians can rely on the fact that there is an offer of high-quality care and care facilities in all regions of the country,” said Teschl-Hofmeister, who also emphasized: “The state parliament has decided to expand the nursing homes by 300 million euros by 2030. Planning or other projects are also in the starting blocks. The state of Lower Austria is happy to “have found a reliable partner with the Althea Group who will operate this new care and care facility in Perchtoldsdorf with 144 beds”.
“In addition to beautiful and modern houses, it also needs qualified staff,” said the State Councilor another aspect. “We have massively expanded the training opportunities in the state of Lower Austria in recent years. For all interested parties from Perchtoldsdorf and the surrounding area: The next training center for training in this area is in Baden, and the one -year training as a nursing assistant starts on October 28th. The trainees receive a nursing training bonus,” she informed.
For Mayor Andrea Kö, it is very important to respond to the needs of the older generation, with a care facility playing a central role. This new house will help to significantly improve the quality of life of the seniors in Perchtoldsdorf: “Due to the demographic development, there is definitely a need,” said the mayor. She thanked the state of Lower Austria for the support and with the Lower Austrian state government, which has cleared the way for the future of inpatient care in Perchtoldsdorf.
