With fresh ideas and clear future visions, the umbrella organization city marketing Austria started into the year with new leadership. Two consecutive events at the new association seat in Leonding set decisive impulses for the further development of city marketing in Austria.
Strategic orientation at the board exam
At the board exam on the first day, the focus was on positioning the umbrella organization and the next steps. In a moderated workshop, the extended, 16-member board discussed intensively on the future perception of the association and developed concrete measures. Strategies were developed to strengthen the visibility of city marketing at national and regional level. In addition, further initiatives to promote inter -municipal exchange were outlined.
Practice day: creative concepts for urban development
On the following practice day, experts exchanged information: inside from creative industries, architecture and digital technologies about innovative approaches to revitalize vacancies and sustainable urban development. Under the motto “Lost Places Neu think” Previous projects were presented, including the transformation of the former UN Shopping Center in Leonding to a modern city district.
Further impulses came from Georg Tremetzberger (Creative Region Linz & Upper Austria), Christina Kragl (Nonconform) and Markus Pargfrieder (Responsive Spaces), who showed how creative strategies and digital technologies can revive urban spaces. The event offered a platform for the interdisciplinary exchange, which produced new synergies between city marketing and other economic sectors.
The conclusion was a discussion round of courageous communication with Sinisa Vidovic (Fora-Film) and Natalie Schimpelsberger (Rosenbauer). Here it became clear that a strong brand strategy and authentic communication are crucial for perception and development.
The two days in Leonding made it clear: City marketing needs innovative approaches, creative minds and courageous communication to develop cities alive and sustainably. The knowledge gained should flow into future projects and initiatives in order to strengthen the resilience and attractiveness of the cities in the long term.
