From mermaids to the role of religions today

St.Pölten (OTS) On Friday, January 19th, the exhibition “Mermaids” by Ursula Minarik from Brunn am Gebirge will open at 6:30 p.m. in the new pop-up gallery of the Kulturvernetzung NÖ in Fischau Castle. On Friday, January 19th, the Kunsthalle Krems invites you to a curator’s tour with Andreas Hoffer through the exhibition “7 Deadly Sins. Current Comments” with works by Nathalie Djurberg, Hans Berg, Teresa Margolles, Jonathan Meese, Dan Perjovschi, Herta Müller and others. The exhibition “Growing Rings” by Hans Liemberger will open with a reading by Sophie Reyer and live music by GuGabriel on Saturday, January 20th at 4 p.m. in the Theater am Steg in Baden. The pencil works that explore the life of the landscapes can be seen by the artist with Waldviertel roots until January 28th, every Tuesday to Friday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. as well as during all events in the Theater am Steg. On Saturday, January 20th and Sunday, January 21st, the Krems Caricature Museum is hosting “Erwin Moser. Fantastic Stories” is a special program for the whole family in honor of the 70th birthday of the illustrator and children’s book author, who died in 2017. The program from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. includes a “Family Factory,” a hands-on reading theater, a children’s book cinema and interactive family tours. The Landesgalerie Niederösterreich in Krems will again be serving “Art, Coffee & Kipferl” on Sunday, January 21st from 10:30 a.m. This time, our guest is Sabine Haag, general director of the Kunstgeschichte Museum, who is in the exhibition “Art Treasures from the Baroque to the Present”, in which around 120 masterpieces from the Lower Austria State Collections are currently on display, with Gerda Ridler, the artistic director of the Lower Austria State Gallery, discussed the importance of museum and art collections. Also on Sunday, January 21st, from 2 p.m. in the Gugging Museum, another dialogue-oriented tour “Experience gugging!”, designed as an introduction to Gugging art, is on the program, which provides an overview of the development of the Art Brut Center and the diverse Themes of the artists from Gugging are granted. From 3 p.m. Peter Pongratz will explain under the title “In Search of Lost Art” as part of the special exhibition “abstract.!? between figuration and abstraction” using the example of the artists Rudolf Liemberger, Philipp Schöpke, Erich Zittra and Rudolf Horacek represented in the show to illustrate the interplay between figuration and abstraction. Finally, the Krems online magazine “ask – art & science krems” invites you to the open event “In Dialogue” in the museumkrems on Monday, January 22nd: from 10 a.m. the two “ask” journalists Astrid Kuffner and Nina Schedelmayer will discuss with Karsten Lehmann, research professor for interreligiosity at the KPH Vienna-Krems, and Andreas Hoffer, curator of the exhibition “7 Deadly Sins” in the Kunsthalle Krems, about the role of religions today.
