Opening with “C-TV (When I tell you, I like you…)” by Eva Egermann and Cordula Thym
Vienna (OTS) – From April 14, 2024, ORF III will again be presenting new media art projects from the “Pixel, Bytes + Film – Artist in Residence” funding program: The Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Public Service and Sport (BMKÖS) is supporting young artists in cooperation with ORF III Culture and Information :inside realizing innovative film formats. A total of ten new works will be shown on ORF III over the course of the year. The short film “C-TV (When I tell you, I like you…)” (8:20 a.m.) by Eva Egermann and Cordula Thym will kick things off on Sunday, April 14th. The humorous filmic plea for a realignment of the media world, which was awarded the prize for innovative cinema at the Diagonale 2023, uses elements from science fiction and utopia to show how people can meet on equal terms on television.
The short films shown as part of the series “Pixels, Bytes + Film – Artist in Residence” presented by ORF III presenter Patrick Zwerger-Holder deal with digital technologies and new media in an original, experimental way. Filmmaker Felix Lenz, among others, filmed his innovative essay film “Brute Force” in US salt deserts, Barbis Ruder takes a humorous look at social media in her project “Influenca,” and Samuel Traber shows what a city is like with “Green Vienna.” the future could look like, and Michael Simku deals with the topic of espionage in the short film “Invisible Auctions”.

Cemetery hamsters from Meidling shoot laser beams from their eyes, a zombie soldier answers calls on donation phones, and a rousing laughter performance wins the song contest. In the television program “C-TV,” hamster Hedi conducts conversations with people with disabilities about their everyday lives as well as their artistic and political work.
