DIE UMWELTBERATUNG is offering a new course in autumn in which energy consultants are trained specifically for urban areas.
Vienna (OTS) – The demands on energy consultants are different in the city than in rural construction projects. That’s why it was high time to offer an advanced course that gives energy consultants the tools for energy consulting in urban areas. DIE UMWELTBERATUNG developed the new training format, commissioned by the Energy Planning Department of the City of Vienna, in cooperation with Hauskunft, a service from wohnfonds_wien. There are still a few places available for the first course, which starts in September 2024.
Energy-efficient construction and renovation makes a significant contribution to comfortable living and climate protection and needs to be well planned. In the new energy consultant advanced course “urban”, the content has been prepared specifically for consultants in urban environments. “With this training, the energy consultants gain the know-how to help make cities climate-fit. DIE UMWELTBERATUNG will offer the course once or twice a year in the future,” explains Claus Hollweck, energy consultant at DIE UMWELTBERATUNG.
DIE UMWELTBERATUNG’s cooperation partners are the Energy Planning Department of the City of Vienna, Hauskunft Vienna and the Energy and Environmental Agency of the State of Lower Austria.
Apartment buildings as valuable energy depots in the city
Building houses requires a lot of energy and materials. The renovation and energy optimization of Wilhelminian style houses is therefore the order of the day. For the advanced energy consultant course “urban”, the general topics of energy consulting have been expanded to include specific information on urban housing. These include, for example, insulation in protection zones, centralization of heating in apartment buildings, expansion of heating networks and legal basis for implementing measures to get out of oil and gas.
The first course starts on September 24, 2024. The course lasts six months and takes place on 3 days a month. There are still a few free places.
Structure of the course
In the F-course (advanced course), experts from science and practice present basic and in-depth content of energy consulting in 120 teaching units. In addition, the participants write an independent project paper and carry out six consultations under expert supervision. The course and the final committee examination correspond to the standards of the Energy Consultant Training Association – ARGE EBA.
Professional fields and requirements
The knowledge acquired can be applied in many areas of the construction industry as well as the energy and real estate industries. The prerequisite for participation is the successful completion of the energy consultant A course.
