New donation opportunity at McDonald’s Austria for Ronald McDonald Children’s Aid

Brunn am Gebirge (OTS) –

Just in time for Giving Tuesday, guests in over 200 local McDonald’s restaurants can support Ronald McDonald Children’s Aid even more easily with a donation and can now add 20 cents to their bill at the cash register or in McDrive. The organization, financed by donations, supports 1,700 families throughout Austria every year with a “temporary home” near the hospital.

For three years now, many McDonald’s guests have been using the popular function to directly support children’s charities when ordering at the order kiosk and to donate cashlessly and easily with just one click. You can choose between several fixed amounts or round them up. This is now also possible when ordering in person at McDrive or at the cash register in the restaurant: During the payment process, guests now have the opportunity to donate 20 cents as a fixed amount to the Ronald McDonald Children’s Aid. This is made possible by implementing a dedicated donation button at McDonald’s checkouts.

“We are very happy about this innovation – because every donation counts: With this sum, which at first glance seems small, the guests make a significant contribution to the financing of large and important projects, such as the new building of the children’s aid house in Linz, and can make a big difference – They give affected children the closeness and security of their families in difficult times.”explains the children’s welfare board Karin Schmidt.

Five houses throughout Austria

Children’s Aid currently operates five houses across Austria in the immediate vicinity of special clinics or therapy centers and supports around 1,700 families every year who find a “temporary home” during the medical treatment of their seriously ill child. The donation-financed association has been active in Austria since 1987 and McDonald’s Austria has been the largest partner of children’s aid for just as long, with its now 45 franchisees. “The Ronald McDonald Children’s Aid Houses provide families of seriously ill children with a piece of everyday life in an extremely stressful situation. It is therefore a matter close to our hearts to contribute to the continuous expansion of this indispensable offer – because we know that proximity helps heal.” so Ellen StaudenmayerManaging Director at McDonald’s Austria.
