Today, Thursday, the elections for the chair and board of the Federal Youth Representation (BJV), the legal advocacy representation of all children and adolescents in Austria, took place in the University of Agriculture and Environmental Education in Vienna. Ahmed Naief (Muslim Youth Austria), Anna Schwabegger (Scouts and Scouts Austria), Sebastian Stark (Junge People’s Party) and Lejla Visnjic (Socialist Youth) were elected by the members of the member organizations present with the majority of the new BJV chairpersons. In this way, you will be the mouthpiece for the concerns of around 3 million children and adolescents in Austria in the next two years.
Several changes on the board
A total of 13 candidates faced the board. The following people were elected to the BJV board for the next two years:

Martin Lahmer (Catholic Jungschar Austria)
Klemens Lesigang (Catholic Youth Austria)

Hannah Rippel (Evangelical Youth Austria)
Anne Urbanek (campaign campaign)
Demand for future -oriented politics
In the next two years, the government will demand a future-oriented policy for young people from the government.
“After a long government formation, it is now important that measures are quickly implemented, relieve young people and give them security and good future prospects,” the new BJV chairmanship agreed.
Growing up in peace and security, children’s rights, mental health and strong climate protection will also remain important core issues for the BJV.
Further work focuses on
The chair and board member of the BJV are newly elected every two years. All around 60 member organizations have the opportunity to nominate candidates who are then elected by the delegates of the children’s and youth organizations. Afterwards, the new chair and the board of directors determine the new focus of the BJV in a work course. It is a higher -level goal to represent the diverse concerns of all children and adolescents in the best possible way.
