New bachelor’s degree programs at the FH Kufstein Tirol

The Kufstein Tirol University of Applied Sciences will continue to expand its diverse training offerings in the bachelor’s area starting in the 2025/26 winter semester. On the one hand, the teachers at the FH Kufstein Tirol have developed the English-language Drone Engineering & AI-based Innovation* course, which is unique in Austria and is offered as a full-time version. On the other hand, the corporate management course will be operating under the new name Leadership & Business Management from the next winter semester. Both bachelor’s degree programs last six semesters and have a compulsory semester abroad and a professional internship integrated. “Our range of courses – both for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees – is constantly growing and adapting to the current requirements of the job market,” says Prof. (FH) Dr. Thomas Madritsch, Managing Director of the FH Kufstein Tirol. “We always strive not only to recognize current trends in business and research, but to be pioneers in them – especially in the fields of digitalization, sustainability and artificial intelligence. This is reflected in both our range of courses and our curricula.”

Drone Engineering & AI-based Innovation*

The new bachelor’s degree course Drone Engineering & AI-based Innovation* provides comprehensive knowledge of drone technology and its applications. The focus is on drone design, propulsion systems and electronic subsystems, based on the fundamentals of aviation and aerodynamics. Various software and programming modules enable students to control drones and autonomous unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). In addition, sensor technology and data analysis enable sensible use of the information obtained. Legal framework conditions and security round off the curriculum. The language of instruction is English, other foreign languages ​​as well as a compulsory semester abroad at one of the 225 partner universities worldwide and a professional internship lasting several weeks help to develop intercultural skills. Management knowledge and entrepreneurial thinking also improve career opportunities on the global market.

After successfully completing this course, graduates are technically adept, understand the ethical, legal and social aspects associated with the use of drones and are trained in critical thinking, problem solving and project management.

Leadership & Business Management

For the former business management course of study, only the name will change from the winter semester 2025/26 Leadership & Business Managementthe proven curriculum remains in place. The program prepares students to successfully run and/or start companies. The focus is on holistic entrepreneurial thinking, supported by business knowledge, practical projects and social skills.
