Loacker: “The Chancellor’s growth strategy only lists the failings of the outgoing government. A political bankruptcy petition.”
Vienna (OTS) – Today’s press conference is a political insolvency petition for Austrian economic policy, according to NEOS economics spokesman Gerald Loacker: “A Federal Chancellor who has to realize that after 37 years in government, the ÖVP is neither an economic nor a locational party. A Harald Mahrer who no longer knows what hat he is wearing and plays the ÖVP party brother. And IV boss Knill, who, like us NEOS, has been demanding the same from the Chancellor for years.”
The Chancellor’s growth strategy is nothing other than a list of the failures of the ÖVP-Green government: “The billion for childcare was buried by ÖVP Chancellor Kurz himself, the reduction in non-wage labor costs was promised by the ÖVP and the Greens and never redeemed and with the ÖVP- The Schengen veto also caused massive damage to the interests of the Austrian economy. So Nehammer has gambled away the future of our country little by little. A reform government is therefore needed in the autumn that is courageous and prepared to tackle these major challenges at the location. We are ready for this,” affirms Loacker.
There is – as the IV boss rightly said – not an income problem but an expenditure problem: “Companies and employees must be able to work and it must pay off. One of the first measures of a future government must therefore be to reduce the tax burden to below 40 percent. If Nehammer and Mahrer also talk about de-bureaucratization, then they could at least have implemented the promised bureaucracy monitoring from their own government program.”
