“We NEOS achieved our best election result in Vorarlberg today with around nine percent and are looking forward to the voting card votes that have not yet been counted. However, it is already clear today that NEOS is one of only two parties that have a plus ahead of the result. Despite the fight for the state governor’s chair staged by the ÖVP, NEOS made gains in this election with bold reform ideas and clear statements – even on unpopular measures. “This was anything but a given and is the result of the noticeable desire for reform on the part of Claudia Gamon and the entire NEOS Vorarlberg team,” says NEOS General Secretary Douglas Hoyos, pleased about the best result in a state election and the third election in a row in which NEOS made a gain were able to record.
Disappointing result for the future of Vorarlberg
Overall, the result of the election was disappointing for the future of the people in Vorarlberg, said Hoyos: “Unfortunately, the duel for the state governor’s chair faked by the ÖVP also prevented the key reform issues from being more central to the election campaign . This is particularly unfortunate for the future of the country.” It is now up to Markus Wallner to draw his conclusions from the result. “We are still available to NEOS as a discussion partner for reforms,” adds the NEOS Secretary General.
