Hoyos: “Nehammer will bring the FPÖ into the next federal government – as he has already done in the state governments in Lower Austria, Upper Austria and Salzburg.”
Vienna (OTS) – “After this interview, there are no longer any doubts: whoever votes for the ÖVP in the National Council election in the fall will vote for the FPÖ into the government,” says NEOS General Secretary Douglas Hoyos today Ö1 lunchtime journal with Federal Chancellor and ÖVP leader Nehammer. “Nehammer cannot and does not want to exclude the FPÖ as a coalition partner, on the contrary: he is rolling out the red carpet for them. This makes it completely clear: The flimsy assurances that it only works without Kickl are completely worthless; the ÖVP will quickly form a government with the FPÖ if the two have a majority. Because the ÖVP only cares about one thing: staying in power.”
A look at Lower Austria, Upper Austria and Salzburg shows that all of the ÖVP’s claims to the contrary in the election campaign are worthless and that the People’s Party and the Freedom Party are very close partners, says Hoyos. “There, too, the ÖVP excluded the FPÖ under Kickl as a partner before the election – and after the election everything was different.”
Everyone knows what a black-blue coalition means, said Hoyos: “Austria urgently needs a reform alliance after the next election. We know that blue-black or black-blue, regardless of the constellation, is certainly not that. We only need to remember Kurz I – it was a lot of things, but not a reform alliance. It was a PR alliance, a disaster alliance, a corruption alliance – we experienced all of these things, but nothing was reformed. But Austria needs reforms more urgently than ever – so that every child really has every chance, so that the security and prosperity of all of us are guaranteed in the future, so that people can get by with their money again and build something for themselves. The citizens must be the election winners and not some Federal Chancellor who only cares about his own power.”
