Nature Conservation Association: The naturObservation.at annual report is here

The naturObservation.at annual report 2023 presents all the highlights of the year from Austria’s oldest species reporting platform.

Salzburg (OTS) In 2023, more different animal, plant and fungal species were shared than ever before: around 100,000 reports from more than 5,300 species!

Among the top reports were the first detections of the spectacled warbler (Sylvia conspicillata) and the variable running wolf (Agricultural stop), which have led to exciting scientific publications – great proof that citizen science is an important pillar of both science and nature conservation. Further exceptional evidence of species, including another wildcat sighting, but also particularly outstanding nature photographs and interesting facts about the species – all of this can be found in the annual report.

With exciting information about the amphibian, reptile and insect protection activities of the Nature Conservation Association and the naturObservation.at community, the annual report reflects another year with many great flashlights from nature conservation.

The Nature Conservation Association is happy about every single observation that is made on its citizen science platform naturbeobachtung.at or the app of the same name is shared. Every image uploaded makes a great contribution to species conservation, every find could be published in the next annual report – let’s get started!
