The Enzis are the symbol of the MuseumsQuartier; everyone knows and loves the colorful seating. The fact that the new furniture made from recycled material now becomes ambassadors for a sustainable MQ underlines the ‘MQ goes Green’ strategy.

Vienna (OTS) – It’s that time again – every two years, visitors to the MuseumsQuartier Wien have the opportunity to vote on the color of the Enzis, the famous seating furniture in the MQ. In keeping with the “MQ goes Green” initiative, the “Enzis recycled” will be used for the first time in 2024.
The Enzi voting will take place from December 2nd to 11th, 2023. You can choose from the colors “Evergreen Tann-ja”, “Blue-blooming Genzi-an” or “Silver Gerlinde”. The color names are inspired by the tree and plant species that have been greening the MuseumsQuartier since summer 2023.

Previously, the popular MQ yard furniture was made of polyethylene, which is 100 percent recyclable. In order to further reduce the proportion of raw materials in production and protect the environment, the inventors of Enzis, the architects of PPAG, Anna Popelka and Georg Poduschka, have been working with the producer for a long time on a suitable recycling version the furniture classic worked. The challenge was to meet the requirements of outdoor furniture despite the changed raw materials.
The new Enzis consist of up to 70 percent recycled material from beverage cartons. A relevant proportion of the material is already being used for secondary purposes. As before, the new Enzis are also fully recyclable after their service life has expired and remain part of the material cycle.
You can vote around the clock from December 2nd to 11th, 2023 www.mqw.at/voting. The new Enzis in the chosen color will be installed in the MuseumsQuartier at the end of March.

Purchase requests for the previous MQ furniture (in the color “MA48orange”) are being accepted immediately. For EUR 720 gross, everyone can secure their own Enzi for their terrace or garden. Inquiries under furniture@mqw.at.
