“It was with great sadness that I learned of the passing of Dr. Find out Karl Peterlik. His life and work were characterized by tireless commitment to Austria, a deep understanding of diplomacy in difficult times and a long-standing connection to the People’s Party,” said the state party chairman of the Vienna People’s Party, City Councilor Karl Mahrer.
Dr. Karl Peterlik, born on September 10, 1932 in Prague, experienced the Prague Spring first hand as a young diplomat in the Austrian legation in what was then Czechoslovakia. In further stages of his impressive career, especially in Southeast Asia, he always championed Austria’s values and interests with great skill.
“Dr. Peterlik was an outstanding diplomat and a bridge builder between cultures. His extraordinary commitment and his contributions to Austrian foreign policy will not be forgotten,” said the club chairman of the Vienna People’s Party, local councilor Markus Wölbitsch. “On behalf of the Vienna People’s Party, we express our deepest condolences to his family and relatives,” they both concluded.
