“The Secret of the Gemeindalpe” is Lower Austria’s first outdoor mountain escape game. From July 5th, players can find hints from the middle station to the summit with a breathtaking mountain panorama and view of the Erlaufsee and solve the big puzzle. “With this completely new summer offer, our community alp as a destination will be even more attractive as a destination. By 2027, we are expanding the playing opportunities on a total of three escape trails in different levels of difficulty. So our guests can rediscover the mountain and nature in a playful way,” informs Lower Austria Transport Councilor LH deputy Udo Landbauer.
The “secret of the community alp” is mysterious. The game scenario: The figure Felix suddenly disappears for unknown reasons and leaves only one voice message with a few cryptic indications that point out the records of Uncle Meinrad, an UFO fanatic. For the players it is important to find out what Felix ‘disappear and Meinrad’s secret is all about.
This is how the Escape game runs: At the valley station of the Mitterbach valley station, the players receive a backpack with all the necessary utensils, in addition you only need a cell phone. Then it goes with the chairlift to the middle station, from where the escape trail starts. With the help of the cell phone and the utensils, puzzles have to be solved and notes discovered on almost three kilometers to the summit in order to reveal the “secret of the community alp”. The game takes about five hours and can be solved in small groups of two to a maximum of eight people.
“With its numerous hiking routes, the MountainCarts, the Crawler course and now the new Mountain Escape, our community alpine Mitterbach offers an extensive overall experience for all guests – from child to senior, from sporting enthusiasts to a cozy walker,” complement the NÖVOG Managing Director Wolfgang Schroll and Michael Hasenöhrl.
Tip: The community alpine Mitterbach is stress -free and environmentally friendly by public transport. From the Mitterbach/Erlaufsee station (Mariazellerbahn), it is only a few minutes’ walk to the valley station of the Gemeinde Alpe.
