Then at 9:50 p.m., Stermann and Grissemann, as speakers of the documentary “Welcome to Carnival!”, don’t mince words. You browse through the large ORF archive and take a colorful foray through Austria’s customs.

“Monika Gruber: Too true to be beautiful” at 8:15 p.m

The little things in life can make things difficult. Monika Gruber knows this and mercilessly puts her finger on the wounds of our bleak everyday life. Daily television, the difference between men and women and getting older are the inexhaustible sources from which the cabaret artist draws. It can only be helpful that she comes from the town of Tittenkofen near Erding and made her way through the programs “Die Komiker” and “Kanal fatal” on Bavarian television. When Monika Gruber talks, gossips and mocks, not a single eye stays dry!

“Welcome Carnival!” at 9:50 p.m

Dirk Stermann and Christoph Grissemann, as speakers of the humorous documentary “Welcome Fasching!”, go to the ORF archive and show the most worth seeing TV reports about the carnival. In a colorful foray across Austria, they report on local customs and practical jokes, delicious donuts and crazy costumes. They show historical archive footage of the “Sauschädelstehlen” in Styria as well as the “Wampelerreiten” in Tyrol and greet Carinthia with a “Lei, Lei!” In Vienna, society likes to celebrate carnival in ball gowns, but the following applies in the city and in the country: let the fools go!
