The Moldavia (AGE) e-government agency is proud of their To announce participation in the second round of the large -scale pilot projects (LSP) for the EU Digital Identity Wallet (Eudi). As a member of the “WE Build” consortium, which was selected by the European Commission, AGE strengthens the role of Moldavia as a future-oriented digital nation that has been committed to equation to EU standards.
This initiative underlines Moldova’s use for digital transformation, which is promoted by the rapidly growing IT sector. The Moldova Innovation Technology Park is an example of this growth. It houses over 2100 companies from over 40 countries and contributes 5 % to national GDP. The operating model and the competitive flat -rate tax of 7 % have attracted top -class technology companies and strengthened the position of Moldovia as a regional digital hub.
AGE will be significantly involved in the development and testing of safe business-to-government solutions for the integration of digital wallets into public services throughout the EU. The initiative promotes the exchange of proven procedures and supports the broad introduction of digital identity exchanges for public and private electronic services.
Moldova is already a leader in this area with a preliminary version of a digital identity exchange that is integrated into the “Documents” module of EVO, the national app for public services. In addition, Evosign, a robust authentication tool that is currently in the pilot phase, shows the use of Moldova for the further development of Eudi, with plans for an extension into a full electronic Signature application.
This is the first project of Moldovia that is promoted as part of the “Digital Europe” program. This affects the country its commitment to digital innovation and adaptation to the EU. Eudi-Wallets offer private individuals and companies secure opportunities for access to online services, storage and exchange of digital documents as well as the creation of right-wing electronic signatures. Every EU member state becomes its own reverberation Develop on the basis of common specifications to ensure interoperability.
The LSPS are of crucial importance for the refinement of the Eudi development, the examination of the specifications and the design of the implementing law files that will formally integrate Eudi into EU law. These projects, which are financed from the 7-billion euro budget of the digital Europe, are intended to promote the introduction of digitization in all sectors. The “We Build” consortium with around 200 partners from the EU member states and the private sector will lead this initiative. The project will start in autumn 2025 and will run for 24 months under the direction of Dutch and Swedish government agencies.
The Republic of Moldova was officially associated with the “Digital Europe” program in February 2024, whereby AGE acts as a national contact point to ensure further progress in the country’s digital transformation.
