Moldovic e-government agency participates in the EU pilot project on the digital identity exchange

The Moldavia (AGE) e-government agency is proud of their To announce participation in the second round of the large -scale pilot projects (LSP) for the EU Digital Identity Wallet (Eudi). AGE will be significantly involved in the development and testing of safe business-to-government solutions for the integration of digital wallets into public services throughout the EU. The initiative promotes the exchange of proven procedures and supports the broad introduction of digital identity exchanges for public and private electronic services.

Moldova is already a leader in this area with a preliminary version of a digital identity exchange that is integrated into the “Documents” module of EVO, the national app for public services. In addition, Evosign, a robust authentication tool that is currently in the pilot phase, shows the use of Moldova for the further development of Eudi, with plans for an extension into a full electronic Signature application.

This is the first project of Moldovia that is promoted as part of the “Digital Europe” program. This affects the country its commitment to digital innovation and adaptation to the EU. Eudi-Wallets offer private individuals and companies secure opportunities for access to online services, storage and exchange of digital documents as well as the creation of right-wing electronic signatures. The LSPS are of crucial importance for the refinement of the Eudi development, the examination of the specifications and the design of the implementing law files that will formally integrate Eudi into EU law. The Republic of Moldova was officially associated with the “Digital Europe” program in February 2024, whereby AGE acts as a national contact point to ensure further progress in the country’s digital transformation.
