Chisinau, Moldova (ots/PRNewswire) – Moldova advances its digital revolution and introduces two key institutions to strengthen cybersecurity: the National Cybersecurity Agency (ANC) and the National Institute for Innovations in Cybersecurity “Cybercor”. These initiatives, which took place on February 9th at Moldova Cybersecurity Forum (MCF) presented highlight the country’s efforts to build a secure and resilient digital future.
“We need a secure economy. In the course of digitalization, institutions are necessary that ensure a high level of resilience. These two new institutions will play a key role in strengthening the country’s cybersecurity,” said Dumitru Alaiba, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Economic Development and Digitalization.
The Republic of Moldova’s proactive approach arises from its unique geopolitical location and the increasing global cyber threat environment. The Cybersecurity Law of 2023 serves as a cornerstone that brings the country up to EU standards and takes a structured, effective approach to combating cyberattacks.
The ANC represents this proactive stance and actively protects critical infrastructure, government systems and citizens from cyber threats. Cybercor, on the other hand, focuses on cultivating future cybersecurity talent through innovative educational programs that equip students and officials with critical skills.
The Republic of Moldova’s commitment extends beyond its borders. Active participation in regional and international cybersecurity initiatives promotes collaboration and knowledge sharing. The MCF with its over 800 participants and more than 40 speakers from all over the world testifies to this spirit of cooperation.
These strategic moves position Moldova as a leading country in digital security, attracting individuals and companies seeking a safe and secure digital environment. By prioritizing cybersecurity investments and collaborations, Moldova is paving the way for a prosperous and resilient digital future, setting an example for other countries to meet the challenges of the digital age.
