Mobileum selected as technology platform for NTT Communications’ global connected car project

Cupertino, Kalifornien (ots/PRNewswire) Mobileum will provide an integrated connected car suite that includes Connectivity Management Platform, IoT Fraud Management & IoT Service Assurance Solutions

Mobileum Inc. (“Mobileum”), a global leader in telecommunications analytics solutions, is pleased to announce that NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), a subsidiary of NTT Group, has selected Mobileum to provide the technology platform to deliver its solutions for connected cars for a global auto OEM business case. Mobileum provides connectivity management, connectivity testing and fraud prevention solutions for the connected cars market. The solution provides an integrated approach to eSIM connectivity management, quality assurance, and fraud detection and prevention in the entire NTT-Com portfolio for connected cars.

According to Juniper Research, the number of connected cars will increase by 91%, reaching 367 million by 2027, up from 192 million in 2023. Automakers are increasingly offering connected infotainment, security and utility services to unlock new digital revenue streams and improve customer experiences . To ensure the security and quality of these services, manufacturers need a platform to test connectivity, expand digital services and protect end customers. NTT Com will rely on Mobileum’s integrated solution, which combines a Connectivity Management Platform (CMP) with service assurance and fraud management solutions to provide automotive manufacturers with a consistent and high quality customer experience. This enables NTT Com to deploy, test and secure extensive networked infrastructures to meet the evolving needs of the automotive industry.

With the increasing penetration of digital services and the growing connected vehicle fleet, the automotive industry is facing growing concerns about always-on connectivity, which brings security and fraud risks that can negatively impact various stakeholders, including automakers, businesses and consumers. The increase in data generated by connected vehicles is making commercial enterprise fleets more vulnerable to potential ransomware threats. Consumers’ privacy, security and personal data are now even more vulnerable to access by potential fraudsters. To address these challenges, automakers are particularly vulnerable to ransomware attacks. By implementing a combined Connectivity Management Platform and IoT Fraud Management solution, NTT Com can mitigate these risks and provide secure IoT connectivity to its customers in the modern vehicle and mobility sectors.

Mobileum’s IoT fraud management solution uses machine learning and artificial intelligence and continuously learns from the data processed by the system. This allows NTT Com to assess potential risks, define controls, monitor events and implement and track remediation plans as necessary. The advanced analytics capabilities provide NTT Com with end-to-end, real-time visibility to avoid significant risk events and prevent potential losses.

Mobileum’s IoT Service Assurance solution is a response to the rapid proliferation of IoT devices in various markets. This enables OEMs to provide reliable services not only domestically but also internationally, ensuring comprehensive coverage and seamless service continuity for IoT implementations. Mobileum’s solution assesses IoT services in both core and wireless network infrastructure and performs end-to-end testing of platform connectivity, data transfer, data integrity and application monitoring, while validating power saving features for IoT devices.

“As part of our mission to deliver high-quality solutions to our enterprise customers, NTT Com is focused on ensuring an optimal customer experience. We chose Mobileum because they have demonstrated a deep understanding of our customers’ needs and our requirements and have proven experience in connectivity management, testing and fraud prevention. Mobileum’s connected vehicle solutions are flexible, future-focused and expand our capabilities to provide good quality in-car connectivity and visibility with fraud prevention, which will ultimately help improve customer experience,” said Yuji Tamai, Director of 5G&IoT Services, NTT Communications .

“As the connected vehicle market continues to grow, IoT connectivity management, connected vehicle testing, quality assurance and fraud prevention will be among the key priorities for the automotive industry. Service providers like NTT Communication are in a unique position to accelerate the growth of the connected vehicle market by providing fast, reliable and secure connectivity. Mobileum looks forward to playing a critical role in expanding its underlying connectivity management, testing, security and fraud prevention capabilities,” said Raja Hussain, Director of Revenue at Mobileum. “Mobileum is committed to expanding its presence in Japan in 2022 established a local subsidiary, Mobileum Japan KK, to further invest in Japan.” To learn more about Mobileum’s IoT and connected vehicle solutions, visit Mobileum’s booth (Hall 2J50) at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, February 26-29, 2024.
