Michter’s receives the industry’s highest honor: The World’s Most Admired Whiskey 2024

The just released 2024 list of the world’s most admired whiskeys, compiled by Drinks International released features legendary distillers from Scotland, Japan, Ireland and beyond. Michter’s, the Louisville-based maker of bourbon, rye and American whiskey, is ranked No. 1 on the Top 50 list for the second year in a row.

The rankings, compiled by an academy of independent, global drinks buyers, journalists, bartenders and whiskey experts from more than 20 countries, represent the pinnacle of performance in the global whiskey trade. The annual rankings Drinks International is considered the definitive list of the best whiskeys in the world. Springbank and Yamazaki, two iconic distilleries, have been named Most Admired Whiskey 2022 and 2021 respectively.

The 2024 results show that American whiskey is recognized for its excellence by connoisseurs around the world. Joseph J. In addition to its main distillery in Louisville’s Shively district, Michter’s also operates two other locations in Kentucky. In Springfield, Michter’s grows home-grown grains on its 205-acre property, while Michter’s operates its second distillery in downtown Louisville in the historic Fort Nelson Building. Michter’s Fort Nelson Distillery is in a prime location on West Main Street across from Louisville Slugger and on the same block as the Frazier Museum. There are also guided tours with whiskey tastings and “The Bar at Fort Nelson” featuring classic cocktails curated by spirits and cocktail historian David Wondrich.
