Mep Sophia Kircher becomes the first Austrian President of the Youth Epp

Representatives of almost 50 party youth organizations of the Yepp (Youth European People’s Party) elected their new board today. The Tyrolean Sophia Kircher was elected as the first Austrian in history with 86.7 %.

“We can be proud of Sophia Kircher, with whom the Yepp puts a powerful, successful young woman at the top. She will continue to work in a strong voice for young people and guaranteed the enforcement power of the greatest political party youth in Europe,” said JVP Federal Minister of Europe Claudia Plakolm.

“The choice to the Yepp President is a great honor and a clear mission for me. I will continue to work for being heard that young voices are heard at all levels and shape Europe’s future. Our generation faces challenges that require long-term solutions-from herds of crisis to Europe’s borders to migration and disinformation. Introducing and implementing national projects that offer noticeable advantages on site, for example a uniform and EU-wide train ticket.

The Yepp represents 51 youth organizations with almost 1.4 million members. The young People’s Party has been very committed since its foundation and has already provided a wide variety of responsibilities. Kircher, now the first Austrian President, was the first vice president in the previous period.
