MCR OIL TOOLS announces the confirmation of the PHMSA that the shipping of its Thermite Tools is not explosive and not dangerous
Arlington, Texas (OTS) –

MCR OIL TOOLS announced the approval of the PHMSA (Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration), a department of the US Department of Transportation, to transport the company’s well -known Radial Cutting Torches (RCT) on a thermal base as not dangerous. The RCT is used worldwide to cut oil drill pipes for pipe mountain work on land and in the deep sea.

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals decided in July 2024 that Phmsa had ranked arbitrarily and arbitrarily in the Radial Cutting Torches (RCT) from MCR without reason as a “explosive” and apparently only relied on complaints from competitors. These symptoms ignore factual evidence, including the test results of Phmsa’s own thermal study and the results of the test laboratories it named.

MCR tools have a flawless security record of more than 40 years of global shipping without a single security incident. And the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals referred the MCR-Thermit-Klassification in October 2024 for further exams to PHMSA. The PhMSA classification from 2022 is problematic in that there may be delays in the case of dangerous and inflammatory substances and a significantly higher administrative effort is required, which drives up the costs for MCR and the oil and gas industry in general.

PHMSA’s approval for MCR to send its RCTs as not explosive and not dangerous recognizes the really safe nature of MCR technology and simplifies the further distribution of MCR Torches of oil and gas producers and service companies all over the world. Mike Robertson, founder and CEO of MCR OIL TOOLS, said “We are pleased about the result of this lengthy and difficult fight with PhMSA for the right classification for our tools. We have always preserved product safety and will continue to do so while we offer the most efficient pipe cutting technology for the energy growth.” Robertson also emphasized that PHMA’s decision to give MCR the approval of sending his RCT as harmless, justifying the company’s efforts in the interests of its dozens of licenses and the hundreds of manufacturers all over the world.

MCR intends to rely on the decision of the Fifth Circuit and the latest lawsuit by PhMSA in order to proceed against those who have raised false accusations against his proven safe tools.
