Academic honor for many years of work on behalf of the university and location
Innsbruck (OTS) – In recognition of his outstanding achievements in founding and developing the MCI, his sustained and personal commitment and his long-standing commitment, MCI | The Entrepreneurial University® offers the dignity of an honorary senator Ao. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Norbert Netzer.
Norbert Netzer was a central figure at the MCI for many years, especially in the area of development and establishment of the technical courses, which at that time in Tyrol only existed in trace elements. As the first head of department and course of studies, he had a significant influence on the design and further development of the technical courses at MCI. He held his role as course director for process, biological and environmental engineering from 1998 to 2003, and as a lecturer at the MCI from 1996 to 2024 he worked in various specialist areas, particularly in mathematics and statistics.
As a well-respected, popular and academic teacher, designer, mentor and supporter, he has accompanied generations of young people and opened the way to exciting careers. With his calm, balancing, prudent and benevolent nature, he took away people’s fear of difficult tasks. Norbert Netzer has carried out preparatory, basic and development work for Tyrol as an educational, scientific and business location, which has resulted in 1,500 committed students now finding study places in technical disciplines at the MCI.
