The final preparations for the 30th Vienna Ice Dream are underway at Vienna’s Rathausplatz. Today, Tuesday, Mayor Michael Ludwig visited the extensive construction work, in which up to 300 workers from 60 different companies are working at the same time to create an impressive ice landscape of over 10,000 m² for the first time this year in just a few days.
The city boss was impressed by the construction work during his visit: “The construction work for the Vienna Ice Dream is an impressive logistical achievement every year – this year, with all the innovations, a very special challenge. My thanks go to the many committed people who managed to realize this unique experience with its impressive size and quality in a short time. The Vienna Ice Dream is now exciting for the 30th time and offers Viennese the opportunity to be in the middle of our city to experience sporty and enjoyable hours even in winter. He is a real enrichment for Vienna and its people.”

The 30th Vienna Ice Dream opens its doors on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025. On the opening day, it is open regularly from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. At 7 p.m., visitors can expect a spectacular opening show, choreographed by professional figure skater Jasmin Wallner. 30 ice skaters appear, accompanied by an impressive light show that incorporates the festively illuminated facade of the town hall.
