The management of the country group dm Austria and associated countries is reorganizing itself: The long-time chairman Martin Engelmann handed over his position to Harald Bauer at the turn of the year. Two experienced dm managers are promoted and take responsibility for important international departments: Marlene Draschwandtner (product range) and Bernhard Moser (marketing and OCR) were promoted to management.

Marlene Draschwandtner worked at dm for over twelve years in the areas of product range, sales and international expansion, where, among other things, she played a leading role in the development of the new store image and managed international technical purchasing. In 2023 she took over responsibility for the international product range department.
Marlene Draschwandtner sees the focus of her work as managing director in the product range department on the further development of the offer format with a symbiosis of discount and specialist store in order to combine the discounting principle and the qualities of the specialist store in a unique way. In addition, her focus is on the continuous expansion of price leadership, the internationalization of the dm brands and the design of the individual shopping experience for dm customers. “We want to move even closer together in the dm group, leverage international synergy potential and further increase the efficiency of our processes. Together with our partners, we are constantly developing our offering in order to become even more relevant and attractive for our customers,” emphasizes Managing Director Marlene Draschwandtner.

Managing director Bernhard Moser has been working for dm drogerie markt since 2004 and has had a variety of positions over these twenty years. He was involved in IT and product range management and was most recently responsible for the international marketing and omnichannel retailing department, where, among other things, he was responsible for rolling out the online shop and the Mein dm app in all countries in the Austria and associated countries group.
Moser wants to focus on maintaining and expanding brand leadership, on further developing the customer connection programs and on strengthening international cooperation at dm, while taking advantage of digital opportunities and opportunities. “The development of targeted brand campaigns, the improvement of the service and product range in the online shop and the further development of the Mein dm app as a central digital touchpoint are particularly important to me in order to get our customers excited about dm. In the customer experience, AI applications bring us completely new possibilities for optimization, automation and personalization with clear added value for customers: For example, customer concerns are resolved more quickly and answers are provided more efficiently. At the same time, it is crucial that AI is always combined with human understanding,” explains managing director Bernhard Moser.
