The Bruckner Orchestra Linz, under the direction of Markus Poschner, has earned an outstanding reputation since the beginning of his tenure in 2017. Which is underlined not least by the European music Oscar, the ICMA 2024. Since 2010, the BOL has had its own cycle in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein. This season, a subscription for all four concerts at the Vienna Musikverein is being offered for the first time.
With the 7th Symphony, the sixty-year-old Bruckner celebrated a long-awaited success in Leipzig in 1884. Today the Seventh is one of the most frequently performed of his symphonies. The atmosphere of nature, a parallel to Bruckner, was a central source of inspiration for Jean Sibelius throughout his life. Sibelius’ symphonic work culminates in his seventh, the “Symphony in One Movement”, which was called “Fantasia Sinfonica” when it was premiered 100 years ago on March 24, 1924 in Stockholm under his direction.
