Cultural highlights in spring/summer 2024 always up to date with the “KulTour Compass”
Vienna (OTS) – ORF Vorarlberg presents its diverse and varied cultural program for spring and summer 2024. The current cultural highlights can be found on the website vorarlberg.ORF.at and in every issue of the Vorarlberg “Weekend Magazine”.
40th anniversary “Focus – Topics for life”
The popular radio show “Focus – Topics for Life” has been an integral part of ORF Radio Vorarlberg for 40 years. Now ORF Vorarlberg is celebrating its milestone birthday with a special event on March 15th at the ORF Landesfunkhaus Vorarlberg in Dornbirn. The aim of the series has always been to offer the audience “topics for life”. With this in mind, the Vorarlberg psychotherapist and doctor Alfried Längle speaks in his keynote speech about how a happy life can be achieved.
Exciting topics at “Valuable Children”
As part of the “Valuable Children” lecture series, the well-known brain researcher, doctor and psychotherapist Joachim Bauer will speak on March 6th about relationship-oriented pedagogy from a neuroscientific perspective. He explains how essential the presence of caring people is, especially in a digitalized world. Further lectures in the series deal with gender-reflective action in everyday educational life (Julia Nentwich on April 24th), with the question of how to develop security in dealing with children’s feelings (Anne Künstler on May 15th), and with the topic of postpartum depression ( Notburga Egerbacher anchor on June 19th).
Literature, folk music and church services
The book “The Secret of Self-Love” by the qualified life and social counselor Carmen Franceschini will be presented on March 14th at the ORF-Landesfunkhaus Vorarlberg in Dornbirn. Several church services from Vorarlberg will be broadcast across Austria on radio and partly on television over the next six months, and fans of brass and folk music will get their money’s worth with the new “music brunch” on numerous occasions this summer. In July, ORF Vorarlberg’s big music competition “Sound@V” will take place again at the Poolbar Festival in Feldkirch, where bands and individual musicians from Vorarlberg will show what they can do in front of a large audience.
Extraordinary concert experiences
“Solstices” (Solstices) is the name of a work by the Vorarlberg composer Georg Friedrich Haas, which will be performed on February 24th by the “Ensemble Plus” under the direction of Guy Speyers at the ORF-Landesfunkhaus Vorarlberg in Dornbirn. It is an unusual and intense concert, staged in complete darkness. The concert series “Talents in the Funkhaus” will take place in April at the ORF Landesfunkhaus Vorarlberg: Excellent students from the Stella Vorarlberg Private University in Feldkirch will present their skills in front of an audience and at ORF Radio Vorarlberg as part of a lunchtime concert. A reflection of the largest Austrian youth music competition “prima la musica” is the prizewinners’ concert in the ORF-Landesfunkhaus Vorarlberg on April 25th: the winners of the Vorarlberg state competition will present excerpts from their competition program that evening.
The focus is on the Bregenz Festival
When the Bregenz Festival takes place in July and August, ORF Vorarlberg and all its media will also be there in a big way. Even before the festival opens on Lake Constance, the “Workshop Talk” on July 1st will offer insights into the production of the gripping Rossini opera “Tancredi” in the Festspielhaus. At the “Festival Breakfast” on July 14th, 21st and August 11th, artists from the Bregenz Festival talk about their work and provide insight into their lives. In addition, the big “Opening of the Bregenz Festival 2024”, the new play on the lake “Der Freischütz” and the house opera “Tancredi” will be shown on ORF television nationally and internationally via 3sat, of course framed and accompanied by comprehensive reporting TV, radio, online and social media.
Markus Klement, regional director of ORF Vorarlberg: “From gripping programs and exciting lectures, unique musical performances, to large broadcasts of cultural events with national and international significance – as ORF Vorarlberg we are very close and our audience is right in the middle of the cultural events.”
Angelika Simma-Wallinger, editor-in-chief of ORF Vorarlberg: “Making Vorarlberg as a cultural region accessible to as many people as possible at a low threshold is a wonderful task right now. Because when discussions become more heated and trenches are drawn through society, it is particularly important that culture helps us understand each other.”
Jasmin Ölz, ORF Vorarlberg cultural coordinator: “With ORF Vorarlberg, a colorful cultural spring and summer is coming with a variety of art and cultural highlights, to which we warmly invite you.”
