St. Pölten (OTS) – Hundreds of wines from numerous wineries in a growing region are brought together in one place – this is what regional wine shops, such as the “Ursin Haus” in Langenlois or “Weincontraste” in Straß im Kamptal in Lower Austria, do. The Kamptal is considered one of the most successful wine-growing regions in the country; there are over 200 wineries here. The big challenge here: not every winemaker is available every day. In order to offer the wineries a common sales platform and at the same time to stimulate tourism, the regional wine shops were created. The first ones were in 1990 and there are more and more. There are now four large regional wine shops in the Kamptal alone. They are open every day and show a cross-section of the entire range of wines in the region. So you can taste your way through the entire Kamptal in one place.
