Li Peng, senior corporate vice president and president of ICT Sales & Service of Huawei, delivered his speech at Huawei GITEX

On October 14, Li Peng, senior corporate vice president and president of ICT Sales & Service of Huawei, delivered his speech at Huawei GITEX 2024 entitled “Thriving Together in the Intelligent Era”:

The digital economy is evolving into a smart economy. And it will soon become the main engine of global economic growth.

Currently, companies around the world are working hard to build the capabilities they need to thrive in this new era.

Many companies are in the process of further developing digital transformation. They delve deeper into production scenarios and look for areas where digital technology can bring greater benefit, even in traditional industries.

One example is the manufacturing sector. Thanks to full connectivity and industrial IoT platforms, manufacturers are collecting more data than ever before, paving the way for real-time intelligence.

Intelligent transformation is also gaining momentum. More and more companies are using AI to increase productivity and reduce operating costs. This opens the doors to more innovative business models and a better customer experience.

For example, banks use large AI models to create complex user profiles in seconds. These profiles allow them to conduct more targeted marketing and issue loans more quickly. They redesign the customer experience and ensure new growth.

As the global economy continues to evolve, the path to the digital and intelligent future is clear. And that is the best way to stay competitive.

But that’s easier said than done. The different companies, industries and regions are all in different stages of transformation. So how can we help them build the right skills in the way that works best for them?

That’s exactly what I want to talk about today. I’ll share the work Huawei is doing to help customers succeed, how we support our local partners, and build the digital talent ecosystem.

At Huawei, we combine our strengths in networking, storage, computing, cloud and energy to build new digital and intelligent infrastructures.

Together with our partners We serve top customers in sectors such as government, finance, electricity, transportation, manufacturing, oil and gas, mining and internet.

We dive deep into their business cases and explore the best solutions for their digital and intelligent transformation. No matter where you are on your digital journey, we can work together to help everyone succeed.

Last year, Huawei announced its all-intelligence strategy. We have also published a reference architecture for the intelligent transformation of industries. She is collaborative, open, agile and trustworthy and can help steer the transformation process.

In practice, the architecture is already showing initial success. Over the last year we have developed many industry-specific solutions. Additionally, we have published over 100 case studies for various organizations to use during their transformation process.

There are so many great success stories out there!

An example is this Ivory Coast. We have this Ministry of Transport assisted in building a traffic analysis platform using our intelligent traffic system. As a result, road safety risks have reduced and traffic flow has improved by more than 10%.

In addition, Huawei’s “One Cloud, One Network” solution 33 countries in the Middle East and Africa helped, integrative connectivity to build and cover over 1,000 government agencies. Both the efficiency of services and satisfaction have improved significantly.

These are just a few examples of what we have achieved together.

And none of this would be possible without our partners. Your work is critical and we want to help our partners grow as we work together to help our customers succeed.

At Huawei, we are committed to building a healthy, open and mutually beneficial partner ecosystem. Our partnerships in the corporate market are growing rapidly. To date, more than 47,000 partners have joined us. This year alone, our partnerships have grown by more than 18%.

We have also set up 14 OpenLabs worldwide to support collaborative innovations with local solution partners. Together with over 30 solution partners in the UAE We have developed more than 20 solutions that meet the needs of local industries.

We don’t just work with large companies. There are so many SMEs that want to become digital and intelligent. And we do everything we can to help our partners serve them even more independently, easily and effectively.

We offer our partners scenario-based, lightweight solutions, more marketable products and efficient digital platforms. We also provide support in research and development, sales, marketing, delivery and services, enabling our partners to achieve comprehensive business enablement.

We also help our partners to innovate their business and service models. For example, Huawei and BCX have developed a cloud management platform for more than 100 SMEs. This flexible cloud model helps SMBs lease or purchase network services, solve their O&M challenges and reduce CAPEX by over 20%.

On the service front, we are working with partners to improve local service capabilities.

Mastery House is one of our service partners in Saudi Arabia. Over the past eight years, the company’s revenue has increased 16 times, and over 90% of revenue comes from joint projects with Huawei.

Through collaboration, Mastery House has not only achieved rapid sales growth. The company has also built the capabilities to become a leading ICT provider in Saudi Arabia.

Of course, it doesn’t work without people who have the right knowledge and skills. That’s why we’ve worked hard to nurture local digital talent. Together with universities around the world, we have opened a number of ICT academies that serve local communities.

These academies have more than 36,000 ICT engineers and 1,000 developers in Egypt trained. In Saudi Arabia Over 32,000 students have received ICT training, and 6,500 professionals have received ICT certification from Huawei.

In the future, when working with our partners, we will continue to use the advantages as a bridge, integrity as a foundation and the rules as a guarantee. By working together, we can develop more targeted and scalable solutions and drive success in global markets.

Digital and intelligent transformation should not be a privilege for a few. It should be a win for everyone.

Huawei is ready and willing to join forces with more customers and partners. Together we can achieve more, create more and seize the enormous opportunities in this exciting new era.
