At the beginning of this year, Patrick Schöder convent was elected the new abbot. He replaces Columban Loser after 15 years of Loser, to the governor Johanna Mikl-Leitner. “Thanks to Columban Loser, who always shaped the pen by deep faith, with foresight and tireless efforts for our community.” The work of Loser’s letting traces far beyond the walls of the venerable pen, says Mikl-Leitner.
Now you look forward with confidence, the governor explained and congratulated Schöder on the election for the 66th Göttweiger. she said. It is largely “visible symbol for our faith and our values”, for which one stands in Lower Austria “because they offer us permanence and support.”
On the way to the future, the pen needs a good shepherd who knows the state and love to lead it through these eventful times – Abbot Patrick brings the best conditions, she was convinced. “With the state of Lower Austria, you will always have a strong partner at your side for all of your projects,” concluded Mikl-Leitner.
The Benediction of the new Abbot Patrick Schöder took place in the Göttweig Abbey yesterday. In this solemn blessing service, the new Abbot The Insignia – Stab, Mitra and Ring – was presented by the St. Pöltner diocesan bishop Alois Schwarz.
