A lion does not need a jam to get going – and people don’t. Sugar provides energy in the form of glucose, but the body can actually gain it through the rest of human nutrition such as meat, fish and greenery. For example, that’s enough for the Brain, the 150 grams of glucose daily needed. Otherwise the following applies to sugar: please leave out! This is reported by the health magazine “Pharmacies Umschau” in the current issue.
Many foods contain sugar
The consequences of too much sugar are serious: Those who are exposed to high sugar consumption in the first two years of life will later become more common in diabetes and high blood pressure. But even in the later years, sugar is still causing damage. The problem is not the piece of sugar in tea, but the variety of foods that have it today on the list of ingredients, including: Ketchup, yoghurt, spice cucumber, sausage or even ready -made pizza. He often camouflages himself behind terms such as dextrose, corn syrup, molasses.
Also a good portion Incolored rice or a slice of whole grain bread contain glucose. This sugar is packed in starch chains and packed again in indigestible fibers, the fiber. Digestive juices and the enzymes in it have to work something before the glucose can turn into the blood. The blood sugar rises slowly, the body begins with the insulin release, and when the sugar is distributed in the body and the insulin has done its job, we are full and the sugar has not caused any damage.
Heard sugar: less is more
Anyone who consumes sugar in a slightly available form, be it as a Juice, limo or in the form of white rice and white meal pastriesgives his body a quick increase in blood sugar at a level that is too healthy. These are the sugar tips, the experts “post-prandial hyperglycaemia”. This is followed by a rather rapid distribution of the blood sugar -lowering hormone insulin. The hormone shoots because it has to go quickly, sometimes over the destination: The body then reacts after up to four hours with a short sugar, a “reactive hypoglycaemia” – which makes hungry again.
The World Health Organization therefore recommends limiting 25 grams of sugar a day. A complete waiver is neither necessary for adults nor children – but: the careful handling is worthwhile and makes life sweeter.
