Vienna (OTS) – After 20 years in office, Felix Montecuccoli is handing over his role as president to the next generation. At the general meeting of the Land & Forest Companies Austria, Konrad Mylius was elected as the new president.
On today „Forest Day“ The Land & Forest companies held their general meeting in the Liechtenstein City Palace. This year’s meeting will probably appear as a long-term milestone in the association’s history, as a new president was elected after almost 20 years.
The new president of Land & Forest Companies Austria thanks the members for the trust they have placed in him and also the outgoing LFBÖ president: „Felix Montecuccoli has not only shaped the association over the last two decades, but has also achieved decisive improvements for Austrian agriculture and forestry.
“
In a first reaction, the newly elected president emphasized: “Die
Agriculture and forestry are the backbone and engine of society. The aim must be to preserve the personal responsibility and freedom of decision of local companies and to reduce the bureaucratic requirements that have become escalating, particularly in recent years. Especially at the current time, simplifications are needed for farmers and foresters in order to continue to guarantee security of supply.

The outgoing president also expressed his joy at the outcome of the election: “I am convinced that we have found a capable new president in Konrad Mylius. With his experience in political agendas and his enthusiasm and wealth of ideas, he will drive forward agricultural and forestry issues with conviction and guide the association’s fortunes with foresight into the future! In addition to his specialist knowledge, he is, above all, a valuable addition to the team and the association as a person!

About the person: Konrad Mylius has been involved with Land & Forest Companies Austria for several years. Through his parents’ family business in the Lower Austrian city of Haag, he is very familiar with the tasks, opportunities and challenges of local agriculture and forestry. After completing the Francisco-Josephinum agricultural school in Wieselburg and studying business administration, Konrad Mylius gained experience at the industrial association as well as in the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Finance.
The Land & Forest Companies Austria is the voluntary association of Austrian land managers with the aim of maintaining Austria’s forests and fields as a business basis and added social value and to create awareness of the concerns of private agricultural and forestry businesses and their activities. The member companies of Land & Forest Companies Austria together manage more than a quarter of the Austrian forest and produce one in five tons of Austrian grain.
