The Kurienkfrau deputy of the employed doctors and regular physician representative of the Carinthian Medical Association (Käk), Kim Haas, was unanimously elected to the first deputy of Federal Commy Harald Mayer at the meeting of the Federal Coury of Courie in Villach. Haas follows Natalja Haninger-Vacariu (Medical Association for Vienna) for personal reasons.
The mother of two, Kim Haas, is currently in training as a general medicine doctor at LKH Klagenfurt and has held the position as deputy of Curium Chairman Petra Preiss in Käk since May 2022. “Kim Haas is a very committed doctor and representative who knows exactly the wishes and worries of our regular doctors. I can assure her that she and the curia are given any support from me and the curia to be able to meet these challenges in medical training with concrete measures,” says BKAÄ -OBMANN Harald Mayer.
The training is therefore a top priority among its new deputy: “The topic of family and medical profession in conjunction with good education – and how to get it under one hat – is important to me. The current training evaluation should also contribute to this: “I hope that we can further increase the return rate of 53 percent from the previous year in order to achieve an even more meaningful result. Afterwards we have to check the training at poorly assessed departments through visitations in order to quickly achieve an improvement,” emphasizes Haas. “We need less bureaucracy and more time for training!” adds.
The Carinthian focuses on a further focus on university training. “I strive for a very close contact with the Austrian university and medical universities and will particularly work for the fact that the admission test for studying medicine is given more weight on the subject of ‘social competence’. To focus more focus on social skills and also evaluate them higher, also meets the current, real demands on our doctors and their job profile.”
