Kilometer -long traffic jams in return travel from the extended weekend
Vienna (OTS) –

The ÖAMTC-Expert had already feared the traffic jams in return travel from the extended Ascension weekend on Sunday: in their forecasts. The fact that they were so violent around noon came surprisingly.

The holiday columns on the Tauern Autobahn (A10) in Salzburg were stuck north in front of the Golling throwing area towards the north of the Golling area around Sunday afternoon. But even to the south, car travelers had to be patient for up to 1.5 hours.

Zwtl.: Further stem corners

In Tyrol, there was sometimes nothing going on on the Fernpasstrieb (B179) towards Germany between Reutte and Füssen over a length of 16 kilometers. The ÖAMTC on Seefelder Straße (B177) between Seefeld and Scharnitz, also seven on Walchsee Straße (B172) between Kranzach and Niederndorf towards Kufstein.

In Upper Austria there were longer delays in sections on the Pyhrn Autobahn (A9) north between Gleinkerau and Inzersdorf.

In front of the border crossings Kufstein (departure) and the playing field and Nickelsdorf (entry each), the holidays had to endure up to 30 minutes.

“That this was probably not the tip of the iceberg,” feared ÖAMTC expert Harald Lasser.
