The threat is very serious, that is clear to all awake minds in Austria. Kickl and his FPÖ have made it unmistakably clear that if Kickl becomes chancellor, they want to fundamentally change the republic. The role model here is Orban, who, as he proudly says, has turned Hungary into an illiberal society and idolizes Putin as a dictator role model. In Hungary, the media and judiciary were brought into line and civil society was destroyed. The same thing is flourishing with an FPÖ government in Austria, among other things through a law against animal protection and the VGT, which punishes both detections in animal factories and peaceful office occupations with 2 years in prison. That would permanently destroy democracy in Austria, as we know and value it despite all its faults.
