On March 24, 2025, during the MPLS & SRV6 Ai Net World Congress 2025, Huawei organized the successful IP Gala with the topic “Ki-Wan: IP networks lead to the intelligent age”. At the summit, network operators, standardization organizations and industry associations came together to explore the latest trends in the field of AI-WAN innovation. Leading network operators, including Telecom Argentina and Turkcell Türkiye, presented their innovative procedures for IP networks. In the meantime, Huawei offered a deep insight into his AI-WAN solution, which strengthens IP networks using AI. At the event, the Ki-WAN initiative of the IPV6 Forum, the World Broadband Association (WBBA), Turkcell Türkiye, Telecom Argentina, the European Advanced Networking Test Center (Eantc) and Huawei, which was aimed at, was aimed at promoting the development of innovations and the use of IP network.
In his opening speech, Zuo Meng, President of the Router Department of Huawei’s data communication product line, said that network operators are currently confronted with several challenges, including the stagnating growth of traditional services, the slower than expected development of new services and the high costs of the networks that require upgrade to the next generation networks. By introducing AI in areas such as O&M, connections and routing devices, Huawei’s AI-WAN solution contributes to improving network functions and value.
Latif Ladid, President of the IPV6 forum, is of the opinion that the integration of AI into the network infrastructure like Ki-Wan is a necessity for the future. In order to accelerate the introduction of SRV6, the IPV6 forum launched the SRV6 Ready logo program, with Huawei being one of the first device providers that passed the certification.
Santiago Costanzo, Transport Evolution Manager of Telecom Argentina, reported on the introduction and innovative practices of key technologies for IP networks in the AI age. He pointed out that SRV6 helps the network operators to improve the efficiency of E2E automation and to achieve deterministic latency. In the age of AI, Telekom uses AI technologies to simplify O&M and to improve efficiency in order to create added value for customers.
Durmus Mehmet, TurkCell’s deputy director for IP/MPLS core and data center networks, announced that Turkcell is building an ultra-fast and extremely reliable autonomous network in order to be able to offer its customers differentiated services. He emphasized that Turkcell has recognized Ki-Wan’s direction of development and will work with Huawei to develop joint innovations in the areas of energy saving, FHC-based fiber optic monitoring, identification of AI applications and AI agents.
Xu Huan, Vice President of the Router Department of Huawei’s data communication product line, gave expert insights into the AI-WAN solution. He explained that this innovative solution has a three-layer architecture that consists of AI routers, new AI connections and a new AI brain. The solution supports network operators in building networks with optimal TCO, with the expansion of new services, in improving operational efficiency and promoting new services. Wu Qin, Huawei architect for data communication networks and member of the IETF Internet Architecture Board (IAB), explained that the new AI brain consists of Assurspirit, Changespirite and Optimize. The collaboration of large and small models enables the three AI agents intelligent operations and accelerate the development into autonomous networks (on) L4. Zied Ben Houidi, Senior LLM expert of Huawei’s data communication product line, also spoke about the application of AI in IP networks.
Carsten Rossenhövel, CTO and co-founder of the European Advanced Networking Test Center (Eantc)-a relevant independent test organization in Europe-reported on the progress in the interoperability tests with several providers in 2025. This indicates that the key functions of IP networks in the age of artificial intelligence in relation to the Have achieved interoperability.
At the end of the IP Gala, the IPV6 Forum, WBBA, Turkcell Türkiye, Telecom Argentina, Eantc and Huawei jointly launched the AI-WAN initiative to promote the development of IP network innovation and use.
With regard to the future, Huawei will continue to work with network operators and industry partners to open up new markets in the intelligent age, to help customers help business success and to accelerate the growth of new services.
