Linz (OTS) KARNERTA, a subsidiary of VIVATIS Holding AG, has been dedicated to high-quality, local food for seventy years. The Raiffeisenverband Carinthia laid the foundation for today’s KARNERTA as a meat and sausage producer in 1954. In 1971 the company was incorporated into AGROSSERTA and the KARNERTA brand was developed. Another thirteen years later, in 1984, the production of fresh pasta was added. KARNERTA has been part of the VIVATIS group since 1999. In 2016, the range was expanded to include the Cerny brand, which focuses on fish specialties. A major renovation and modernization of meat and convenience production followed in 2018. The most recent adaptation is a modern meat cutting facility built in 2021.

Today, KARNERTA, based in Klagenfurt, is a company with strong roots in the region. We currently employ 255 dedicated, highly trained employees in production, sales and administration.

Focus on regionality and quality

The KARNERTA company stands for fair and high-quality raw materials. “Regionality and quality are always our top priority“, explain the managing directors Franz Tremschnig and Clemens Lacher. Transparency is also very important to the meat masters, as it is important to them that their customers can “completely track the origin and quality of our first-class sausage and meat specialties and our fresh pasta at any time. “In order to guarantee the high quality of its products, KARNERTA relies on long-term partnerships with regional producers. In Carinthia, these include, for example, Carinthian meat, Carinthian milk, Wech poultry or the Sonnenalm.”

Nose-to-tail processing and plant-based pasta

When many people mention KARNERTA, they automatically think of sausage and meat products. In this area, the meat masters also offer a number of high-quality products, be it traditional bacon specialties, dry-aged pieces of beef or bratwursts for the next barbecue party. When processing meat, care is taken to proceed according to the nose-to-tail principle: This means that animals are not wasted as food and that the animals are utilized as a whole. The traditional company also relies on innovative concepts: new additions to the range include plant-based pasta, which does not contain any animal raw materials. Specialist stores, restaurants and hotels

The regional products are sold in eight exclusive specialist markets in Carinthia, Styria and East Tyrol. Six branches throughout Austria ensure the smooth delivery of high-quality meat, fresh pasta and fine fish to customers in the hotel and catering industry. “We produce and process first-class regional food.
