The young liberal Neos – Junos are calling for a sustainable reform of the Austrian pension system. The current model becomes unfinnant in the medium term. A third of the budget already flows into pensions and interest for debt. “The younger generations pay the invoice for this political failure twice – due to an outrageously high tax burden and unsafe perspectives on a good guesthouse.”
Wotschke demands: “The increasing life expectancy must be taken into account in the pension system. In addition, a significant strengthening of operational and private pensions is required. We can no longer afford everything else – every delay further exacerbates the problem. It is about respect for the taxpayers, but also about responsibility towards the next generation. ”
“Instead of finally tackling sensible reforms with the holy cow pensions, Blau-Schwarz plans tax advantages that only benefit pensioners. This is clientele policy as ever. Solidarity may not only apply to older generations – the boys must also be taken into account, ”said Sophie Wotschke, Federal Chairman of the Junos.
Finally, Wotschke appeals to FPÖ and ÖVP to finally take expert opinions seriously. “Every delay tightens the problems. Now the time is for courageous decisions, ”said Wotschke.
