Jungwirth | Green economy: “The brake block mentality harms domestic companies”

Criticism of BM Kocher – “Restart negotiations on the supply chain law as soon as possible”

Austrian companies deserve fair competitive conditions. And we can achieve this with concrete solutions, not with the brake-block mentality of the ÖVP business association

Sabine Jungwirth, federal spokeswoman for the Green Economy

Vienna (OTS) The Green Economy is disappointed by the failure of the negotiations on the supply chain law, especially by the negative attitude of BM Martin Kocher.

“The fact that the ÖVP business association has prevailed with its whispers to the minister is a damage to Austria’s economy and especially to the many small businesses that are already operating responsibly today. In the textile industry e.g. B. many large corporations profit from the exploitation of people and the environment abroad; “Small local businesses are now still at the mercy of this unfair competition,” says Sabine Jungwirth, federal spokeswoman for the Green Economy.

“Torpedoing a compromise solution in this way after negotiations have been concluded also damages Austria’s credibility. It is all the more important that negotiations are resumed as soon as possible. Austrian companies deserve fair competitive conditions. And we can achieve this with concrete solutions, not with the brake-block mentality of the ÖVP business association“, says Jungwirth.
